Havaa, meaning "firework" in Dhivehi, is an adult male olive ridley sea turtle who was found on December 31st, floating in the lagoon near the Pullman Resort by their dive team.

On January 2nd, 2025, Havaa was transported to our facility for medical care. He was diagnosed with buoyancy syndrome and severe entanglement injuries, which resulted in the loss of his right front flipper and left back flipper. He also sustained ligature wounds on his remaining front flipper and around his neck. Although he remains weak at the moment, we are introducing food gradually and we hope Havaa will make steady progress, slowly regaining his "spark".

SPECIES: Olive Ridley
