Budha

Budha is a juvenile green sea turtle that was rescued from entanglement near Jawakara in Lhaviyani Atoll and transferred to our centre with the collaboration of the Olive Ridley Project.

 

When he was found, the rescuers noticed that Budha had ingested some of the material he was entangled in and presented wounds on his neck and left flipper caused by constriction from the net. Due to the time spent entangled, Budha was suffering from Chronic Debilitation Syndrome, and although a few days after admission at AMC he was diving and active, he needs to fully recover his energy before returning to the ocean. We hope Budha will make a full recovery and go back to swimming wild soon!
