On January 9th, MK was brought to our centre from Madivaru after local fishermen found her floating and unresponsive. Thanks to their quick action, she was safely transported to AMC for emergency care.
MK arrived lethargic and heavily covered in algae, a sign she hadn’t been well for some time. Although no traumatic injuries were found, further tests revealed she is suffering from chronic debilitating syndrome and kidney failure. She is currently under intensive veterinary care, receiving supportive treatment as we work to stabilise her condition.
Right now, our focus is helping MK regain strength, improve her diving ability, and (hopefully) begin eating again. With time and care, we hope to see her strong enough to return to the ocean.
